When you look at Shanty’s and combine it with all the other beach clubs, past & present, then it’s just another beach club, you could say thats taking Shanty’s at face value. However, when you look at Shanty’s Beach & Blues Club at Carolina Beach, then you see a club that got it “roots” from the place where Beach Music and The Shag were born in 1946, Carolina Beach. We at Shanty’s are Proud to carry-on a tradition that encompasses the hearts, minds and souls of those who were born and raised in The South, and who have displayed a love for Beach Music & The Shag. Shanty’s is like no-other beach club, we have brought back the fun, the friendships, the dancing and the music which made “us” go out on Thursday nights, to The City Lake, White Beach, The Castaways, The Ocean Plaza, etc. and we have given everyone a place to “come home to”. When you walk in and up the stairs, you will start to feel the energy of those who have left us this wonderful legacy, people like “Chicken Hicks”, Joe Pope & Dink Perry, they have provided us with such a great foundation, and when you get to the top of the stairs, amazingly you know you have come to the right place, a place where you to can start your own history and memories, here at Shanty’s.
